What Makes PhysicianOne Urgent Care Different?
When our founding physicians started PhysicianOne Urgent Care, they wanted to create something different. They wanted to build a network of urgent care centers with convenient locations, making it easier for patients to get the best care possible even outside of standard business hours. They wanted to save patients the hassle of going to the hospital for bumps and bruises, broken bones, and head colds. The result was a network of urgent care centers with extended hours that offer convenient, affordable care for a host of non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses.

COVID-19 Virus Testing
PhysicianOne Urgent Care offers COVID-19 testing for patients with or without symptoms. We offer PCR and Rapid (antigen) testing, as well as antibody testing. Simply walk in to be tested, or reserve your spot online for your test. You can also start your test with a COVID Virtual Visit, meeting with one of our providers via telehealth first, and your subsequent in-center test will be expedited. Common symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, loss of taste or smell, and general malaise, but these symptoms can also be attributed to the common cold and the flu. That’s why it’s a good idea to get tested to rule out COVID-19.
Here at our urgent care center, we also offer antibody testing. This test can determine whether COVID-19 virus antibodies are present in your blood, which means you had the virus at some point in the past, even if you didn’t have any symptoms. In fact, the World Health Organization estimates that up to 80% of cases are mild or asymptomatic. Getting tested for COVID-19 antibodies helps researchers learn more about the virus’s immunity and is an important first step in learning more about this virus.
24/7 Telehealth Virtual Visits
Virtual Visits are a great alternative for individuals and families who need prompt medical care but don’t want to leave their homes. PhysicianOne Urgent Care offers telemedicine services from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days per week, and you’ll be seen by one of our experienced practitioners. A Virtual Visit is ideal if you have a common illness or minor injury and need a prescription called in quickly or want to know the next steps to take in your treatment. We are also here for those experiencing symptoms related to COVID-19, or coronavirus. We can address your concerns and offer our expert advice.
Here’s how our telemedicine service works:
- You’ll schedule an appointment using our booking system.
- When it’s time for your appointment, you’ll connect to our secure videoconferencing platform using a smartphone, tablet, or computer. (Don’t worry—you’ll receive detailed instructions on how to do this!)
- You’ll speak with a provider to discuss your symptoms, their severity, and how long you’ve been experiencing them. You’ll be encouraged to ask questions during this call, too.
- The provider will offer a treatment recommendation that is aimed at helping you feel better fast. If follow-up care is warranted, your provider will let you know before the appointment is over.
Schedule your telemedicine visit today. Make sure to select “Book Now” under Connecticut Virtual Visits to schedule your appointment. Most health insurance plans cover Virtual Visits with healthcare providers, including Medicare and Medicaid. Self-pay patients can expect to pay $130 for the visit.
