What Makes PhysicianOne Urgent Care Different?
When our founding physicians started PhysicianOne Urgent Care, they wanted to create something different. They wanted to build a network of urgent care center with convenient locations, making it easier for patients to get the best care possible even outside of standard business hours. They wanted to save patients the hassle of going to the hospital for bumps and bruises, broken bones, and head colds. COVID-19 Virus Testing
COVID-19 is a brand-new strain of coronavirus that is highly contagious and can produce symptoms similar to those of the flu and other common respiratory illnesses. For instance, within two to 14 days after exposure to COVID-19, some people experience fever, persistent coughing, and shortness of breath.
Although most people who are infected with COVID-19 have only mild to moderate symptoms, if any, some individuals develop serious medical complications that may require hospitalization. Therefore, we encourage you to seek medical attention right away if you are exhibiting signs of COVID-19. The providers at PhysicianOne Urgent Care are ready to safely evaluate your illness to ensure you receive the right care.
Toward that end, we offer telemedicine consultations, which allow our team to remotely prescreen you for the novel coronavirus. In addition to discussing your health, your provider will address any questions you may have about COVID-19 exposure, testing, quarantine, or returning to work. During your Virtual Visit, you will also receive direction on whether you should receive a COVID-19 test or another medical test, go to a hospital emergency room, or self-isolate at home.
The PhysicianOne Urgent Care provider will review the reasons for seeking a COVID-19 test with you. This includes your symptoms (if symptoms are present), your exposure risk, your travel plans or your employer/school requirements. This thorough examination will help determine which COVID-19 test is right for you and your circumstances. Once the examination is complete, the PhysicianOne Urgent Care provider will order the COVID-19 test, which can be done safely at our Ridgefield center.
Please note that COVID-19 testing requires advanced reservation as we are not taking walk-in COVID-19 test patients.
Virtual Visits are a great alternative for individuals and families who need prompt medical care but don’t want to leave their homes. PhysicianOne Urgent Care offers telemedicine services from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days per week, and you’ll be seen by one of our experienced practitioners. A Virtual Visit is ideal if you have a common illness or minor injury and need a prescription called in quickly or want to know the next steps to take in your treatment. We are also here for those experiencing symptoms related to COVID-19, or coronavirus. We can address your concerns and offer our expert advice.
Here’s how our telemedicine service works:
- You’ll schedule an appointment using our booking system.
- When it’s time for your appointment, you’ll connect to our secure videoconferencing platform using a smartphone, tablet, or computer. (Don’t worry—you’ll receive detailed instructions on how to do this!)
- You’ll speak with a provider to discuss your symptoms, their severity, and how long you’ve been experiencing them. You’ll be encouraged to ask questions during this call, too.
