What Makes PhysicianOne Urgent Care Different?

When our founding physicians started PhysicianOne Urgent Care, they wanted to create something different. They wanted to build a network of urgent care center with convenient locations, making it easier for patients to get the best care possible even outside of standard business hours. They wanted to save patients the hassle of going to the hospital for bumps and bruises, broken bones, and head colds. The result was a network of urgent care centers with extended hours that offer convenient, affordable care for a host of non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses.

Remote Prescreening & Curbside Testing for COVID-19

COVID-19 is a brand-new strain of coronavirus that is highly contagious and can produce symptoms similar to those of the flu and other common respiratory illnesses. For instance, within two to 14 days after exposure to COVID-19, some people experience fever, persistent coughing, and shortness of breath.

Although most people who are infected with COVID-19 have only mild to moderate symptoms, if any, some individuals develop serious medical complications that may require hospitalization. Therefore, we encourage you to seek medical attention right away if you are exhibiting signs of COVID-19. The providers at PhysicianOne Urgent Care are ready to safely evaluate your illness to ensure you receive the right care.

Toward that end, we offer telemedicine consultations, which allow our team to remotely prescreen you for the novel coronavirus. In addition to discussing your health, your provider will address any questions you may have about COVID-19 exposure, testing, quarantine, or returning to work. During your Virtual Visit, you will also receive direction on whether you should receive a COVID-19 test or another medical test, go to a hospital emergency room, or self-isolate at home.

If we recommend COVID-19 virus testing, you can preregister for a drive-up nasal swab test at our urgent care center in Ridgefield. After we collect a sample of secretions from your nose and throat, we will send the sample to a certified lab for processing and contact you when we receive the result.

Virtual Visits

Virtual Visits are a great alternative for individuals and families who need prompt medical care but don’t want to leave their homes. PhysicianOne Urgent Care offers telemedicine services from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days per week, and you’ll be seen by one of our experienced practitioners. A Virtual Visit is ideal if you have a common illness or minor injury and need a prescription called in quickly or want to know the next steps to take in your treatment. We are also here for those experiencing symptoms related to COVID-19, or coronavirus. We can address your concerns and offer our expert advice.

Here’s how our telemedicine service works:

  • You’ll schedule an appointment using our booking system.
  • When it’s time for your appointment, you’ll connect to our secure videoconferencing platform using a smartphone, tablet, or computer. (Don’t worry—you’ll receive detailed instructions on how to do this!)
  • You’ll speak with a provider to discuss your symptoms, their severity, and how long you’ve been experiencing them. You’ll be encouraged to ask questions during this call, too.
  • The provider will offer a treatment recommendation that is aimed at helping you feel better fast. If follow-up care is warranted, your provider will let you know before the appointment is over.

"The overall care I received was excellent! I also appreciate your affiliation with Yale New Haven Hospital."

Derby, CT

"Throughout the visit I felt like the staff really cared. The Doctor took his time talking with me about my symptoms, and I felt like he listened to all my concerns and took that into consideration when recommending the right treatment. Thank you!"

Hamden, CT

"I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care."

Westwood, MA

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today."
