Cold? Flu? We’ve Got You Covered

At PhysicianOne Urgent Care, we specialize in helping you get the care you need, whether cold or flu (and more), when you need it most. During the COVID-19 pandemic is it more important than ever to have your non-COVID injuries and illnesses evaluated and treated as quickly and safely as possible to stay out of the Emergency Room. Our goal is always to help as many patients as possible during these challenging times. At this time we are seeing all non-COVID testing patients as walk-in visits only. We have a dedicated team on staff to prioritize non-COVID testing patients so you will be seen quickly and safely for routine injuries and illnesses.

Colds and other ailments don’t wait to strike when it’s convenient for you; that’s why we make it our mission to be here when you need immediate access to providers who care. Our highly experienced medical staff is available early in the morning and in the evening to accommodate your busy schedule. With extended hours 365 days a year, you will always have access to the treatment you need to feel better and keep moving forward. We also treat infants and children, and are available to see your child for a host of health concerns; including fevers, colds, stomach pain, earaches, and more.

Whether your doctor is too busy to fit you in, or you don’t currently have a primary care physician, we can help. We assist patients with a wide variety of non life-threatening health conditions, including, but not limited to:

  • Colds
  • Congestion
  • Flu
  • Sinus infections
  • Sore throat
  • Fevers
  • Headaches
  • Shortness of breath
  • Earaches and ear infections
  • Mild asthma

Treating the flu

The flu can cause an array of unpleasant symptoms, including coughing, body aches, fever, and sore throat. Unfortunately, it can also be especially dangerous for seniors, infants, and people who have compromised immune systems. Each year, thousands of people suffer flu-related deaths. For this reason, it’s important to see a provider when symptoms worsen or become unmanageable.

These days, doctors are better able to treat the flu, thanks to modern antiviral medications such as rimantadine (Flumadine), oseltamivir (Tamiflu), zanamivir (Relenza), and amantadine (Symmetrel), which can alleviate serious symptoms by reducing the duration of the illness. However, these medications are not helpful for everyone, so it is important to see a provider to determine if the medications could be beneficial for you.

With that said, it can be difficult for flu sufferers to get quick attention from family practitioners who are often too busy for immediate appointments.

With convenient hours and several center locations, PhysicianOne Urgent Care is the perfect option for flu sufferers who need quick relief. We also accept most insurance plans while providing experienced, qualified providers for all ages.

If you are suffering from a cold or flu, visit the nearest PhysicianOne Urgent Care center to you.

If you’re experiencing a life-threatening emergency, call 911 immediately or go to your local emergency room.

"Throughout the visit I felt like the staff really cared. The Doctor took his time talking with me about my symptoms, and I felt like he listened to all my concerns and took that into consideration when recommending the right treatment. Thank you!"

Patient
Hamden, CT

"I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care."

Patient
Westwood, MA

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today."
