Our COVID-19 Tests

Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) Tests

PCR tests are considered the gold standard of COVID-19 testing. They can be administered to patients with or without symptoms and are generally more accurate than rapid tests. A PCR test identifies viral genetic material of COVID-19, both while someone is actively infected and after the acute illness. The downside to PCR tests is that results can sometimes take a few days.

Rapid Antigen Tests

A rapid antigen test can be administered to patients with or without symptoms. Generally, they are less accurate than PCR tests and are best for those in the peak stage of infection (within the first few days of experiencing symptoms). Rapid tests are ideal if you need a quick result; you’ll be able to find out within as little as 15 minutes whether or not you have the virus.

Antibody Tests

COVID-19 antibody tests determine if you have antibodies (proteins) in your blood that fight the COVID-19 virus. A positive antibody test means you may have had a COVID-19 infection in the past and may be immune to infection for a period of time, although scientists are still discovering how long immunity lasts and how protected individuals are.
