Visit Our Ridgefield, CT, Urgent Care Center for Flu Shots & Other Vaccinations

Flu Shots Ridgefield CTAre you concerned about contracting the flu? Aside from keeping your hands clean and making sure not to share food or drinks, one of the best things you can do to keep yourself healthy is to get a flu shot. Seasonal flu vaccines contain inactive or weakened versions of what are expected to be the most common flu strains in the upcoming year. When this form of the flu enters your body, your immune system reacts by creating antibodies that will protect you against it in the future. If you’re in Ridgefield, Connecticut, or a nearby area, you can receive a flu shot at PhysicianOne Urgent Care.

When Should You Get Vaccinated for the Flu?

You should aim to get a flu shot in early fall. Although you can contract the flu at any time during the year, “flu season” typically lasts from November through March. Because the influenza vaccine can take up to two weeks to go into effect, you’ll want to give yourself a cushion of time to avoid becoming infected before you’re fully protected. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend getting a flu shot before the end of October.

"Throughout the visit I felt like the staff really cared. The Doctor took his time talking with me about my symptoms, and I felt like he listened to all my concerns and took that into consideration when recommending the right treatment. Thank you!"

Patient
Hamden, CT

"I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care."

Patient
Westwood, MA

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today."
