Cough Symptoms Mohegan Lake NYIf an ongoing cough is interfering with your daily life, you can get the treatment you need at PhysicianOne Urgent Care. We’re a leading immediate care center and we’re pleased to offer treatment for cough symptoms at our location in Mohegan Lake, New York.

How to Tell If It’s COVID-19

Given the ongoing coronavirus crisis, the first signs of a cough might understandably trigger concerns about having COVID-19. It’s important to remember that there are numerous potential causes of a cough—including conditions as common as a cold, the flu, and allergies—so you shouldn’t jump to any conclusions, especially before consulting with a professional and receiving a test (COVID-19 testing information is available here).

While only a trained medical provider can offer you an accurate diagnosis, here are some things to keep in mind:

  • Unlike a common cold, COVID-19 often leads to shortness of breath and a new loss of taste or smell.
  • If you’re experiencing sneezing and congestion, chances are good that you don’t have COVID-19, since this virus doesn’t tend to produce nasal symptoms.
  • A dry cough is more common for COVID-19, as opposed to a wet cough that brings up mucus or phlegm.

Don’t Wait Any Longer

If you’re experiencing persistent cough symptoms, you shouldn’t have to wait days or weeks for an appointment with your primary care provider. Luckily, PhysicianOne Urgent Care’s Mohegan Lake office—located at in the Cortlandt Town Center at 3085 Main Street, Suite 12A—offers walk-in cough treatment 365 days per year. To minimize any wait times, be sure to take advantage of our online check-in system. Or, if you’d prefer to not leave the house at all, we also offer telehealth services for our patients’ convenience.

"Throughout the visit I felt like the staff really cared. The Doctor took his time talking with me about my symptoms, and I felt like he listened to all my concerns and took that into consideration when recommending the right treatment. Thank you!"

Patient
Hamden, CT

"I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care."

Patient
Westwood, MA

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today."
