What to Do If You Have COVID-19 Symptoms

PhysicianOne Urgent Care offers COVID-19 testing for patients with or without symptoms. We offer PCR and Rapid (antigen) testing, as well as antibody testing. Simply walk in to be tested, or reserve your spot online for your test. You can also start your test with a Virtual Visit, meeting with one of our providers via telehealth first, and your subsequent in-center test will be expedited. Common symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, loss of taste or smell, and general malaise, but these symptoms can also be attributed to the common cold and the flu. That’s why it’s a good idea to get tested to rule out COVID-19.

Here at our urgent care center, we also offer antibody testing. This test can determine whether COVID-19 virus antibodies are present in your blood, which means you had the virus at some point in the past, even if you didn’t have any symptoms. In fact, the World Health Organization estimates that up to 80% of cases are mild or asymptomatic. Getting tested for COVID-19 antibodies helps researchers learn more about the virus’s immunity and is an important first step in learning more about this virus.

24/7 Telehealth – Visit Us Virtually

You may have heard term “telehealth,” or perhaps you have already taken advantage of this service. As an alternative to an in-office consultation, telemedicine service is becoming increasingly popular, and PhysicianOne Urgent Care is pleased to offer this convenient and effective healthcare delivery option to our patients.

How does telemedicine work? Essentially, you use your smartphone or another electronic device as your first line of defense against illness. Through a sophisticated and secure telecommunications infrastructure, you and your provider have a HIPAA-compliant conversation via video-conferencing software. You can discuss your non-life-threatening symptoms, such as a low-grade fever or cough, and receive appropriate care from a safe distance.

At PhysicianOne Urgent Care, we believe this is an excellent way to ensure the effective and uninterrupted delivery of healthcare services while still adhering to the latest social-distancing protocols. We can provide the care you need while minimizing your exposure—and the exposure of others—to illnesses.

At a time when everyone is encouraged to take steps to protect our collective health by preventing the spread of germs, telemedicine has become a vital component of healthcare, and it is here to stay. What’s more, the majority of patients who use telemedicine report that they are comfortable and satisfied with the services they receive. If you’d like to remotely consult with a PhysicianOne Urgent Care provider, request a virtual telehealth visit today.

"The overall care I received was excellent! I also appreciate your affiliation with Yale New Haven Hospital."

Derby, CT

"Throughout the visit I felt like the staff really cared. The Doctor took his time talking with me about my symptoms, and I felt like he listened to all my concerns and took that into consideration when recommending the right treatment. Thank you!"

Hamden, CT

"I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care."

Westwood, MA

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today."
