Flu Shots & Other Vaccines Available at Our Urgent Care Center in Medford, MA

Flu Shots Medford MAWith symptoms like a sore throat, fever, chills, headache, and more, coming down with the flu is a truly miserable experience. And that’s if you get lucky. In severe cases, the flu can lead to serious complications that require hospitalization. Fortunately, if you live in Medford, Massachusetts, or a surrounding area, you can walk right into PhysicianOne Urgent Care and receive a flu shot. While a flu shot won’t guarantee that you’ll avoid the flu, it will greatly reduce your chances of coming down with it. And, even if you do become infected with the influenza virus, your symptoms may be less severe than if you had gone without a flu shot.

Who Needs a Flu Shot?

If you are a relatively healthy person who has avoided the flu throughout the years, you may not think you need a flu shot. But, that’s not the case. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend an annual flu shot for everyone, regardless of their health. Additionally, some people are at a higher risk than others for becoming infected with the influenza virus. If you belong to one of the following groups, it’s imperative that you receive a flu vaccine:

  • Adults age 50 and older
  • People with a chronic pulmonary, renal, hepatic, cardiovascular, neurologic, hematologic, or metabolic disorder
  • Women who are or may become pregnant during flu season
  • Nursing home residents
  • Healthcare personnel
  • Caregivers of young children or older adults

Other Vaccinations We Offer

In addition to flu shots, we also offer a variety of other vaccines, including:

  • Td – tetanus, diphtheria
  • TDap – tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis
  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B

"The overall care I received was excellent! I also appreciate your affiliation with Yale New Haven Hospital."

Patient

"Throughout the visit I felt like the staff really cared. The Doctor took his time talking with me about my symptoms, and I felt like he listened to all my concerns and took that into consideration when recommending the right treatment. Thank you!"

Patient
Hamden, CT

"I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care."

Patient
Westwood, MA

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today."
