Cough Symptoms Stratford CTAre you living with a cough that just won’t go away no matter what you try? If so, you can turn to PhysicianOne Urgent Care. We’re pleased to offer treatment for cough symptoms at our office in Stratford, Connecticut.

Is It COVID-19?

If you’ve been experiencing a persistent cough, you may be concerned that you have coronavirus (COVID-19). Of course, the only way to know for sure whether you have COVID-19 is to be tested by a professional (visit this page to learn about our testing options). However, there are some important distinctions between COVID-19 and the common cold that you should watch out for:

  • A cold usually causes a wet cough (one that brings up mucus), while COVID-19 typically causes a dry cough.
  • COVID-19 often results in breathing difficulties and a new loss of taste or smell, while a cold does not.
  • A cold typically causes sneezing and congestion, while COVID-19 does not.
  • COVID-19 symptoms tend to develop more gradually than a cold (with COVID-19 symptoms appearing two to 14 days after exposure, and cold symptoms appearing one to three days after exposure).

Patient

"I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care."

Patient
Westwood, MA

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today."
