Providing COVID-19 Testing Services in the Norwalk, CT, Area

A doctor with a face mask administers a nasal swab test for a young white man.

Do you need COVID-19 testing quickly? You can turn to PhysicianOne Urgent Care for that! Our facility in Norwalk, Connecticut, is open every day of the year with extended hours and staffed with highly skilled providers who can administer the test you need. While we encourage our patients to schedule a Virtual Visit first to have their symptoms evaluated before coming in (your test will be prioritized when you arrive, if you choose this method), you can also walk right in for care.

At PhysicianOne Urgent Care, we offer the following types of COVID-19 tests:

Rapid Antigen Testing

If you need quick results, the rapid COVID-19 test is the way to go. Results are typically ready within 15 minutes. This test is administered using a nasopharyngeal swab to collect nose and throat secretions that will be evaluated to determine if there are protein fragments specific to the COVID-19 virus.

Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) Testing

PCR tests are also administered using a nasopharyngeal swab to collect nose and throat secretions, but they undergo a more rigorous examination to determine if there is the viral genetic material of COVID-19 in the provided sample. The results of a PCR test can take longer than a rapid test—generally, at least a few days—but are considered more accurate.

Antibody Testing

Antibody tests are conducted using a blood sample and will determine if there are antibodies specific to the COVID-19 virus present in your blood. This can indicate you have had a past infection.

If you need COVID-19 testing, come to PhysicianOne Urgent Care in Norwalk today. You can schedule a Virtual Visit beforehand (same-day appointments are typically available) or simply walk right in to our urgent care center for the test you need.

"Throughout the visit I felt like the staff really cared. The Doctor took his time talking with me about my symptoms, and I felt like he listened to all my concerns and took that into consideration when recommending the right treatment. Thank you!"

Patient
Hamden, CT

"I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care."

Patient
Westwood, MA

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today."
