Walk-In Camp Physicals for Families in Derby, CT

Kids playing with magnifying glass in park

It’s the weekend before your child’s summer camp starts and you just remembered that he or she needs a physical. What are you to do? Your pediatrician’s office is closed and delaying summer camp is not an option. Thankfully, for families in the Derby, Connecticut, area, there is PhysicianOne Urgent Care. Our facility is open seven days per week and staffed with experienced providers who can perform a comprehensive camp physical for your child. With us, you’ll be in and out in no time at all!

Our Camp Physicals

There are many reasons why camp programs require attendees to have a physical beforehand. These examinations ensure children are healthy enough to participate in camp activities, from hiking to horseback riding, and that any underlying conditions are noted and accommodated. During the physical, we will:

  • Review your child’s medical history and family medical history
  • Take your child’s vitals
  • Complete a vision screening
  • Check your child’s heart, lungs, abdomen, ears, nose, throat, and major joints
  • Take your child’s height and weight

We ask that you bring your child’s camp physical authorization form, a copy of his or her immunization record, your driver’s license, and your insurance card (if applicable). The fee for our physicals is $80.

Stop by Today

You don’t need to schedule an appointment for a camp physical at PhysicianOne Urgent Care. Just walk right in and we’ll take care of you. Our urgent care center in Derby is located at 78 Pershing Drive.

"Throughout the visit I felt like the staff really cared. The Doctor took his time talking with me about my symptoms, and I felt like he listened to all my concerns and took that into consideration when recommending the right treatment. Thank you!"

Patient

"I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care."

Patient
Westwood, MA

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today."
