Flu Treatment Available on a Walk-In Basis for Patients in Chestnut Hill, MA

Flu Treatment Chestnut Hill MAIf you think you have the flu, you don’t need to wait for an appointment with your primary care provider to get the care you need. Instead, turn to PhysicianOne Urgent Care in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, for walk-in influenza (flu) treatment. We understand that the flu can strike at the most inopportune times, which is why we’re open every day of the year with extended hours. Our patients usually don’t have to wait very long at all, but if you’d like to speed up your visit even further, you can check in from the comfort of your own home using our convenient online system.

How to Treat Flu Symptoms

In some cases, our providers may recommend that flu patients take an antiviral flu medication like Tamiflu. However, not all patients need this type of medication, and its effectiveness usually decreases if taken more than 48 hours after first developing symptoms. (That’s just one reason why it’s so important to seek prompt flu treatment!) The following tips can also help relieve your flu symptoms:

  • Get plenty of rest.
  • Stay hydrated.
  • Take over-the-counter medications, like acetaminophen and ibuprofen, to reduce fevers and achiness.
  • Use a humidifier to relieve coughing and nasal congestion.

Of course, it’s still important to consult with a trained professional. After speaking with you about your symptoms and performing a physical examination, one of our providers will be able to recommend a course of treatment that’s suited to your specific needs.

"The overall care I received was excellent! I also appreciate your affiliation with Yale New Haven Hospital."

Patient
Derby, CT

"Throughout the visit I felt like the staff really cared. The Doctor took his time talking with me about my symptoms, and I felt like he listened to all my concerns and took that into consideration when recommending the right treatment. Thank you!"

Patient
Hamden, CT

"I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care."

Patient
Westwood, MA

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today."
