Testing Services for COVID-19

PhysicianOne Urgent Care offers COVID-19 testing for patients with or without symptoms. We offer PCR and Rapid (antigen) testing, as well as antibody testing. Simply walk in to be tested, or reserve your spot online for your test. You can also start your test with a Virtual Visit, meeting with one of our providers via telehealth first, and your subsequent in-center test will be expedited. Common symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, loss of taste or smell, and general malaise, but these symptoms can also be attributed to the common cold and the flu. That’s why it’s a good idea to get tested to rule out COVID-19.

Here at our urgent care center, we also offer antibody testing. This test can determine whether COVID-19 virus antibodies are present in your blood, which means you had the virus at some point in the past, even if you didn’t have any symptoms. In fact, the World Health Organization estimates that up to 80% of cases are mild or asymptomatic. Getting tested for COVID-19 antibodies helps researchers learn more about the virus’s immunity and is an important first step in learning more about this virus.

Visit Us Remotely – 24/7 Telehealth

If you aren’t feeling well, you also have the option of seeing a PhysicianOne Urgent Care provider without leaving the comfort of your own home. How? By taking advantage of our telehealth services. Telemedicine, which uses technology and mobile devices to securely connect patients with providers for real-time consultations, has added a new dimension to the field of medicine. In non-life-threatening situations, it can be a safe and highly effective way to deliver care.

Given the rapidly changing healthcare landscape, we believe it is now more important than ever for us to be easily accessible to our patients. Telemedicine allows us to expand our reach far beyond the walls of our own offices, allowing us to help patients who are unable to leave home, as well as those who would simply prefer to stay put. By staying home, you will not only help keep yourself and your family safe from the spread of germs—you can potentially save lives by minimizing your contact with others.

At PhysicianOne Urgent Care, we believe telehealth will play a huge role in the future of medicine. While our patients benefit from the associated convenience and improved health outcomes, our providers benefit from the satisfaction they gain in knowing that they are better able to help our patients. As such, telemedicine is a win-win, and a net positive for the healthcare system as a whole.

"The overall care I received was excellent! I also appreciate your affiliation with Yale New Haven Hospital."

Patient
Derby, CT

"Throughout the visit I felt like the staff really cared. The Doctor took his time talking with me about my symptoms, and I felt like he listened to all my concerns and took that into consideration when recommending the right treatment. Thank you!"

Patient
Hamden, CT

"I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care."

Patient
Westwood, MA

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today."
