Urgent Care patients will be seen as quickly as possible and prioritized over the COVID-19 patients in line.

Get Tested If You Have COVID-19 Symptoms

COVID-19 symptoms include headache, fever, chills, body aches, shortness of breath, loss of taste or smell, coughing, and sore throat. If you have been experiencing these symptoms, request a Virtual Visit with our team. We will evaluate your condition and make a recommendation on whether or not you should be tested for COVID-19. If so, we can arrange that for you during the call.

Please note that COVID-19 testing requires advanced reservation as we are not taking walk-in COVID-19 test patients.

To test for COVID-19, we use a 6-inch cotton swab to collect samples from the back of your nose and throat to test for virus particles. You should have your results within a few days, but it can be longer when demand is high like it is right now. We will call you if you receive a positive test and email you if it is negative.

If your test is positive, the general treatment is similar to that of the common cold or the flu: You should get lots of rest, stay properly hydrated, and take over-the-counter pain medication to lessen the severity of your symptoms. However, COVID-19 treatment differs from other conditions in one very important way: You must isolate while you are recovering. This is because COVID-19 is highly contagious and very dangerous for individuals with underlying conditions. You’ll want to stay at home as much as possible and isolate to a single room in your home if you live with other people. You can end your self-isolation when the following conditions are met:

  • You have been fever-free for 72 hours
  • It has been 10 days since symptom onset
  • Your respiratory symptoms have improved

Avoid Leaving the House by Taking Advantage of Our Telemedicine Services

Sometimes, even when you know that you require professional medical treatment, the thought of having to leave the house is unbearable. If that’s the case for you, you can rest easy knowing that PhysicianOne Urgent Care offers outstanding telehealth services to patients in West Hartford and nearby communities.

We can treat a wide range of non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries using advanced telemedicine technology, including:

  • The flu
  • The common cold
  • Migraines
  • Sinus infections
  • Seasonal allergies
  • Heartburn
  • Constipation
  • Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
  • Rashes
  • Insect bites

We can also evaluate you for symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19). Once you’ve signed up for a telehealth appointment, you can expect to meet with one of our skilled providers over our secure video conferencing platform, which you can access using your phone, tablet, or computer. He or she will ask you about your symptoms in order to evaluate your condition, then recommend a course of treatment tailored to your individual needs. You’ll also have the chance to ask any questions that may be on your mind.

In addition to being exceptionally convenient, our virtual visits are also incredibly affordable. If you have insurance, you’ll be glad to know that most carriers offer coverage for telehealth services, including Medicare and Medicaid. We also accept Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Health Spending Account (HSA) cards. And if you don’t have insurance, we have a $50 flat-rate fee per session.

"The overall care I received was excellent! I also appreciate your affiliation with Yale New Haven Hospital."

Derby, CT

"Throughout the visit I felt like the staff really cared. The Doctor took his time talking with me about my symptoms, and I felt like he listened to all my concerns and took that into consideration when recommending the right treatment. Thank you!"

Hamden, CT

"I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care."

Westwood, MA

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today."
