COVID-19 Testing for Residents & Visitors of Waterbury, CT

PhysicianOne Urgent Care offers COVID-19 testing at our facility in Waterbury, Connecticut. If you have been exposed to someone with a confirmed case of COVID-19 or are worried that you’re experiencing symptoms of the virus, we can administer the testing you need quickly. At our urgent care center, we offer the following types of COVID-19 tests:

PCR Tests

Considered the “gold standard” of COVID-19 tests due to its high level of accuracy, a PCR test involves an anterior nasal swab that is then sent to an outside lab to determine if virus particles are present. These tests can be given to patients with or without symptoms, and most PCR test results are available within 24 to 48 hours.

Rapid Tests

Rapid COVID-19 tests are given to patients with or without symptoms, and results are often ready within 15 minutes. These tests measure viral antigens—substances that direct your body to produce an immune response to an infection. Rapid tests are most reliable for those in the early stages of COVID-19.

Antibody Tests

If you do not have symptoms of COVID-19, but want to know if you have virus antibodies, we can conduct that test in our facility. A positive antibody test means you may have contracted COVID-19 in the past (although it could also indicate that you were infected with a different virus from the same coronavirus family). A negative test means that you likely have not had COVID-19.

If you would like to receive a COVID-19 test at PhysicianOne Urgent Care, you can walk right in to our facility in Waterbury. You can also expedite your visit by checking in online or scheduling a Virtual Visit beforehand. If you have your symptoms assessed during a Virtual Visit and the provider recommends coming to our facility for a test, it will be prioritized when you arrive.

"Throughout the visit I felt like the staff really cared. The Doctor took his time talking with me about my symptoms, and I felt like he listened to all my concerns and took that into consideration when recommending the right treatment. Thank you!"

Patient

"I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care."

Patient
Westwood, MA

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today."
