Offering COVID-19 Testing at Our Waterbury Urgent Care Center

PhysicianOne Urgent Care offers COVID-19 testing for patients with or without symptoms. We offer PCR and Rapid (antigen) testing, as well as antibody testing. Simply walk in to be tested, or reserve your spot online for your test. You can also start your test with a Virtual Visit, meeting with one of our providers via telehealth first, and your subsequent in-center test will be expedited. Common symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, loss of taste or smell, and general malaise, but these symptoms can also be attributed to the common cold and the flu. That’s why it’s a good idea to get tested to rule out COVID-19.

Here at our urgent care center, we also offer antibody testing. This test can determine whether COVID-19 virus antibodies are present in your blood, which means you had the virus at some point in the past, even if you didn’t have any symptoms. In fact, the World Health Organization estimates that up to 80% of cases are mild or asymptomatic. Getting tested for COVID-19 antibodies helps researchers learn more about the virus’s immunity and is an important first step in learning more about this virus.

The Right Care at the Right Time

PhysicianOne Urgent Care provides outstanding walk-in urgent care that is readily accessible. We work hard to maintain brief wait times and offer a convenient online check-in system that allows you to reserve your spot in line from the comfort of your own home, and we’ll send you a text when it is time for you to come into the center. And, because we know that injuries and illnesses don’t take days off, we are open 365 days per year, including weekends and holidays, with after-hours care options.

24/7 Telemedicine That Meets Your Needs

Receive quick, convenient healthcare services right from the comfort of your home with Virtual Visits offered by PhysicianOne Urgent Care. Using your mobile device or computer, you’ll speak with one of our knowledgeable practitioners on our secure videoconferencing platform. This patient-to-provider telehealth visit is completely confidential and aimed at helping to deliver the medical treatment you need in the most convenient manner possible.

During a Virtual Visit, one of our practitioners will evaluate your symptoms and recommend a treatment protocol for you. We provide telemedicine services for a wide range of non-life-threatening conditions. Whether you’re feeling under the weather and concerned you might have been exposed to COVID-19, or if you simply need treatment for an insect bite, a urinary tract infection, heartburn, asthma, or a rash, we can deliver the care you need right when—and where—you need it.

What’s more, telemedicine is now covered under most health insurance plans! PhysicianOne Urgent Care accepts most insurances, including Medicaid and Medicare, and we can bill for the cost of the Virtual Visit. Self-paying patients can expect to pay $50 for our telemedicine service.

"The overall care I received was excellent! I also appreciate your affiliation with Yale New Haven Hospital."

Patient
Derby, CT

"Throughout the visit I felt like the staff really cared. The Doctor took his time talking with me about my symptoms, and I felt like he listened to all my concerns and took that into consideration when recommending the right treatment. Thank you!"

Patient
Hamden, CT

"I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care."

Patient
Westwood, MA

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today."
