Walk-In Camp Physicals for Patients in Ridgefield, CT

Picture of children roasting marshmallows around a campfire. From buying bug spray, swimsuits, and other last-minute essentials, to labeling clothes and packing a duffel bag, prepping your child for summer camp can take a lot of time and effort. But don’t forget one of the most important steps: having your child attend a physical examination to ensure that he or she is healthy enough to participate in camp activities and identify any accommodations that may need to be made. Many camps require these physicals, and forgetting to get one before drop-off day could lead to tears for your child and frustration for you.

Luckily, if you’re in Ridgefield, Connecticut, or the surrounding area, you can turn to PhysicianOne Urgent Care for the camp physical your child needs. Our physicals, which we offer on a walk-in basis, involve:

  • Reviewing your child’s medical history and immunization record
  • Asking questions about your family’s medical history
  • Recording your child’s height, weight, and vitals (including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure)
  • Performing a vision screening
  • Checking your child’s ears, nose, throat, heart, lungs, abdomen, and major joints

We charge an $80 flat fee for camp physicals. In addition to this fee, please be sure to bring along any paperwork provided to you by your child’s camp, your child’s immunization record, your driver’s license, and your insurance card (if applicable).

Open Every Day of the Year

If you’re in a time crunch, don’t worry about waiting for an appointment with your child’s pediatrician. Instead, head to PhysicianOne Urgent Care, where your child can receive a camp physical whenever it’s most convenient for you. Our Ridgefield urgent care center, which you’ll find at 10 South Street, is open every day of the year with extended hours, and we never require appointments for kids’ physicals. Be sure to also keep us in mind for your family’s other physical exam needs—in addition to camp physicals, we also offer school and sports physical exams.

"The overall care I received was excellent! I also appreciate your affiliation with Yale New Haven Hospital."

Derby, CT

"Throughout the visit I felt like the staff really cared. The Doctor took his time talking with me about my symptoms, and I felt like he listened to all my concerns and took that into consideration when recommending the right treatment. Thank you!"

Hamden, CT

"I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care."

Westwood, MA

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today."
