Tick Bite Treatment Offered Seven Days per Week in Norwalk, CT

Tick season runs from April through October in Norwalk, Connecticut, although ticks can be spotted any time of the year. Ticks can transmit a number of diseases, including Lyme disease, which is why checking your body for ticks is crucial after spending time outside—even if all you did was take your dog for a walk around your neighborhood. If you do find a tick on you, you’ll want to quickly remove it, as ticks that remain attached to the skin for longer than 24 hours have a greater chance of transmitting Lyme disease.

Lyme disease is a bacterial infection that can cause symptoms such as fever, fatigue, chills, muscle aches, headache, swollen lymph nodes, and a bull’s-eye rash. When caught early, treatment is typically highly effective. Left untreated, however, Lyme disease can cause joint pain, numbness and tingling, and neurological problems. At PhysicianOne Urgent Care, we provide a wide range of tick bite and Lyme disease treatment for our patients:

Tick Bite Removal

We can expertly remove a tick from your skin and dispose of it for you. If the tick has been attached to your skin for longer than 36 hours, we may prescribe a prophylactic antibiotic to reduce your risk of developing Lyme disease.

Lyme Disease Evaluation

Feeling under the weather? Noticed a rash around a tick bite? These symptoms could indicate that you’ve developed Lyme disease. We can evaluate your condition and conduct blood testing to determine if you have contracted the infection. If a Lyme disease diagnosis is confirmed, we may prescribe a round of antibiotics.

If you require treatment for a tick bite or are experiencing the symptoms of Lyme disease, come to PhysicianOne Urgent Care in Norwalk today for prompt and personalized medical attention. Our practitioners will take care of you.

Patient

"I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care."

Patient
Westwood, MA

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today."
