STD Testing Provided Seven Days Per Week in Hamden, CT

STD Testing Hamden CTDid you know that there are around 20 million new cases of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) in the United States every year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)? It’s true! STDs are incredibly common and, in the large majority of cases, can be treated and cured with a simple round of antibiotics or antiviral drugs. At PhysicianOne Urgent Care in Hamden, Connecticut, we want our patients to feel empowered to take control of their sexual health, which is why we offer prompt STD testing and treatment. We are open seven days per week with extended hours in the evening, and we have an on-site clinical lab to allow us to provide quick results. We’ll have you in, out, and on your way home with a treatment plan in no time at all.

STD Testing

We can diagnose a number of different types of STDs, including HIV, gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, HPV, Hepatitis B and C, and herpes. We use a variety of STD testing methods, including urine tests, blood tests, and swab tests (in which we use a sterilized cotton swab to collect samples from affected tissue). The practitioner you see will also perform a brief physical exam as well as a pelvic exam for women.

STD Treatment

Along with testing for STDs, we can also provide STD treatment at PhysicianOne Urgent Care. Our caring team of medical professionals will be able to prescribe the correct treatment protocol for your needs, whether that’s antibiotics, antiviral drugs, or another medication. If you receive a diagnosis of an STD that may require more ongoing treatment and medication, we can send your records to your primary care provider or refer you to a local physician for more routine healthcare services.
Visit PhysicianOne Urgent Care today if you need STD testing that’s fast and convenient. Our urgent care facility in Hamden is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends and holidays.

"I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care."

Patient
Westwood, MA

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today."
