PhysicianOne Urgent Care Hamden

Trusted Walk-In Urgent Care Center in Hamden, CT

PhysicianOne Urgent Care brings a high level of easily accessible medical care to Hamden, Connecticut. Founded in Connecticut, our network of physician-founded immediate care centers faithfully serves adults and children with a wide array of non-life-threatening health concerns, from the common cold to broken bones and everything in between. Because we know that illnesses and injuries often strike at the most inopportune moments, we have extended hours every day – including weekends and holidays – and do not require appointments, although you can check-in online beforehand to skip the wait in the waiting room if you prefer.

The PhysicianOne Urgent Care Difference

Of course, residents of Hamden have several options to choose from when it comes to walk-in care, but PhysicianOne Urgent Care distinguishes itself from other immediate care centers in many ways. Here are just a few:

  • Our affiliation with Yale New Haven Health System allows us to make outstanding health care more accessible to residents of Hamden and surrounding communities.
  • We are the first urgent care center in the state to be licensed and certified by the Urgent Care Association (UCA) – a distinction that speaks directly to the high level of treatment and convenience we provide to our patients.
  • Our providers work closely with local primary care providers and hospitals to ensure continuity of care and the best possible outcomes for our patients.

PhysicianOne Urgent Care offers a wide range of key health services under one roof, including:

Urgent Care patients will be seen as quickly as possible and prioritized over the COVID-19 patients in line. Plus, most major insurance plans are accepted.

COVID-19 Testing Available at Our Hamden Office

PhysicianOne Urgent Care offers COVID-19 testing for patients with or without symptoms. We offer PCR and Rapid (antigen) testing, as well as antibody testing. Simply walk in to be tested, or reserve your spot online for your test. You can also start your test with a Virtual Visit, meeting with one of our providers via telehealth first, and your subsequent in-center test will be expedited. Common symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, loss of taste or smell, and general malaise, but these symptoms can also be attributed to the common cold and the flu. That’s why it’s a good idea to get tested to rule out COVID-19.

Here at our urgent care center, we also offer antibody testing. This test can determine whether COVID-19 virus antibodies are present in your blood, which means you had the virus at some point in the past, even if you didn’t have any symptoms. In fact, the World Health Organization estimates that up to 80% of cases are mild or asymptomatic. Getting tested for COVID-19 antibodies helps researchers learn more about the virus’s immunity and is an important first step in learning more about this virus.

Convenient 24/7 Telemedicine Services

PhysicianOne Urgent Care offers virtual visit services to bring our world-class medical care to the comfort of your home. Using a smartphone, tablet, or computer, you can connect to a secure videoconferencing platform to speak with one of our practitioners about the health concerns you have. The provider you chat with will evaluate the symptoms you’re experiencing in order to deliver the right treatment recommendation for you.

Our telemedicine services are an ideal option if you’re suffering from a common illness or injury, such as a sore throat, cold, minor burn, UTI, rash, bug bite, eye infection, or sinus infection. We’re also available to discuss your concerns about symptoms related to COVID-19, or coronavirus. In many cases, our providers can recommend the next steps you should take based on the symptoms you’re experiencing without the need for an in-person appointment. If follow-up care is warranted, our urgent care center is open seven days per week for prompt treatment.

Virtual Visits are typically covered under health insurance plans, so we can bill for the cost of our telemedicine service. We also accept HSA and FSA cards for your convenience. The cost of the visit without health insurance is $50.

"The overall care I received was excellent! I also appreciate your affiliation with Yale New Haven Hospital."

Patient
Derby, CT

"Throughout the visit I felt like the staff really cared. The Doctor took his time talking with me about my symptoms, and I felt like he listened to all my concerns and took that into consideration when recommending the right treatment. Thank you!"

Patient
Hamden, CT

"I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care."

Patient
Westwood, MA

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today."
