Tick Bite Treatment for Individuals in Glastonbury, CT

In Glastonbury, Connecticut, tick season starts in April and stretches through October, although the reality is that ticks are prevalent year-round. Ticks can become active after just 48 hours of above-freezing temperatures, meaning you could get a tick bite even deep in the winter months. At PhysicianOne Urgent Care, we understand the serious nature of tick bites, and we offer tick removal, bite evaluation, and treatment services. Our urgent care center is open seven days per week with extended hours and you never need an appointment. If you’ve been bitten by a tick or are concerned about the symptoms you’re experiencing after a tick bite, come straight to us and we’ll take care of you.

Tick Bites & Lyme Disease

Some ticks can transmit Lyme disease, an infectious condition caused by the bacteria Borrelia burgdorferi and Borrelia mayonii. Common early symptoms of Lyme disease include a bull’s-eye rash, fever, chills, swollen lymph nodes, body aches, fatigue, headache, and neck stiffness. If left untreated, Lyme disease can later cause joint pain, rashes on other areas of the body, and neurological problems such as limb numbness and impaired muscle movement.

Thankfully, though, Lyme disease can typically be treated with antibiotics and most patients fully recover from their symptoms when it’s caught early.

"Throughout the visit I felt like the staff really cared. The Doctor took his time talking with me about my symptoms, and I felt like he listened to all my concerns and took that into consideration when recommending the right treatment. Thank you!"

Patient

"I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care."

Patient
Westwood, MA

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today."
