Camp Physicals Provided Without an Appointment in Brookfield, CT

Does your child need a physical examination before attending summer camp? You can rely on the experienced professionals at PhysicianOne Urgent Care for that! At our facility in Brookfield, Connecticut, we provide camp physicals on a walk-in basis to patients of all ages. And since we’re open seven days per week with extended evening hours, you can stop by at a time that works best with your family’s busy schedule.

What to Expect During a Camp Physical

A camp physical is a screening tool to ensure a child is healthy enough to participate in common camp activities, such as hiking and swimming. It also ensures a child’s immunizations are up-to-date and allows a medical professional to pinpoint issues that could worsen any underlying health conditions. When you come to PhysicianOne Urgent Care for a walk-in camp physical, we will:

  • Assess your child’s vitals, including pulse, respiratory rate, and blood pressure
  • Take height and weight measurements
  • Evaluate your child’s joints, abdomen, lungs, heart, ears, nose, and throat
  • Complete a vision screening
  • Thoroughly review your child’s medical history

We require that all parents bring their child’s immunization record to the physical so that we can assess whether any necessary vaccines should be given. (In most cases, we can administer the vaccines in our urgent care center, too!) You’ll also want to bring the camp physical authorization form so that we can fill it out.

"Throughout the visit I felt like the staff really cared. The Doctor took his time talking with me about my symptoms, and I felt like he listened to all my concerns and took that into consideration when recommending the right treatment. Thank you!"

Patient

"I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care."

Patient
Westwood, MA

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today."
