COVID-19 Testing Provided Every Day of the Week in Brookfield, CT

Experiencing the telltale symptoms of COVID-19, such as a sore throat, fever, or dry cough? If so, you’re probably concerned that you have the virus and want to get tested as soon as possible. Thankfully, you can do just that when you come to PhysicianOne Urgent Care in Brookfield, Connecticut, for prompt COVID-19 testing. We’re open seven days per week with extended evening hours, and you don’t even need an appointment.

Offering PCR & Rapid Antigen COVID-19 Tests

PhysicianOne Urgent Care offers both polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests and rapid antigen tests, and both are administered using a nasopharyngeal swab that collects nose and throat secretions. Here’s how these tests differ:

  • The PCR test is considered the gold standard of COVID-19 testing and is often required for attending school or traveling. It determines if the virus’s specific genetic material is present in your body. Generally, it takes at least 24 hours to receive the results, although that timeline may be extended during peak periods.
  • The rapid antigen test can be quite accurate if administered while you’re experiencing symptoms or a few days after you’ve been exposed to COVID-19. It can identify protein fragments specific to the coronavirus and provide results in as little as 15 minutes.

Antibody Testing

Some patients wish to have an antibody test administered to determine if virus antibodies were produced by their immune system and present in their bloodstream, indicating that they may have had a previous COVID-19 infection. We are happy to administer this test to patients who are not currently experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.

Stop by PhysicianOne Urgent Care in Brookfield today for a prompt COVID-19 test. You can also schedule a Virtual Visit to have your symptoms evaluated by one of our medical practitioners to find out if you need COVID-19 testing. (If you do, your test will be prioritized when you come into our facility.)

"I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care."

Patient
Westwood, MA

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today."
