Cough Symptoms Somers NYIf you’re in Somers, New York, or the surrounding area and you need help with a persistent cough, you can rely on the professionals at PhysicianOne Urgent Care. Since our founding, we’ve made it our goal to provide patients with the caring, individualized treatment they deserve. Our commitment to providing exceptional service has helped us earn certification from the Urgent Care Association (UCA).

How to Treat Cough Symptoms

There are a number of techniques that you can use to soothe both wet and dry coughs, including:

  • Using a humidifier
  • Breathing in steam from a hot shower
  • Gargling with salt water
  • Drinking fluids
  • Sipping a teaspoon of honey
  • Sucking on cough drops and lozenges

If these at-home remedies aren’t providing sufficient relief, you’ll need to consult a professional who will be able to accurately diagnose what’s causing your cough and prescribe medications as needed. If you’re coughing due to allergies, for instance, a doctor may be able to prescribe a corticosteroid. Or, if your cough has resulted from a bacterial infection, you may need a prescription antibiotic.

Convenient Walk-In Care

At PhysicianOne Urgent Care, we understand how frustrating it can be to wait for an appointment when you’re dealing with unrelenting cough symptoms. That’s why we’re so pleased to offer cough treatment on a walk-in basis at our Somers office (located at 80 Route 6 in Baldwin Place, within the Somers Commons Shopping Plaza). We’re open every day of the year with extended hours, so stop in whenever it’s most convenient for you. Or, if your symptoms are making it difficult for you to leave the house, you can opt to use our telehealth service. We also offer COVID-19 testing, which you can learn about here.

"The overall care I received was excellent! I also appreciate your affiliation with Yale New Haven Hospital."

Patient
Derby, CT

"Throughout the visit I felt like the staff really cared. The Doctor took his time talking with me about my symptoms, and I felt like he listened to all my concerns and took that into consideration when recommending the right treatment. Thank you!"

Patient
Hamden, CT

"I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care."

Patient
Westwood, MA

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today."
