Walk-In Flu Treatment at Our Urgent Care Center in Franklin, MA

Picture of a sick man sitting on a couch under blankets, holding a mug in his left hand and holding his right hand to his head in pain. Many people in Franklin, Massachusetts, and beyond have long turned to PhysicianOne Urgent Care for their annual flu shots. But did you know that we also offer flu treatment? If you’re experiencing flu symptoms—possibly including a fever, chills, headache, body aches, fatigue, nasal congestion, coughing, and a sore throat—you can count on us to confirm your diagnosis and recommend a treatment plan that’s customized to your specific needs.

Influenza Treatment Options

Flu treatment often consists of at-home measures, which may include a combination of the following:

  • Resting
  • Staying hydrated
  • Taking over-the-counter medication (for example, a pain reliever or a nasal decongestant)

In some instances, however, we will prescribe antiviral medication to treat the flu. While this type of flu medication isn’t appropriate for everyone, we may recommend it for individuals who have a higher risk of experiencing complications, such as those who are immunocompromised, pregnant, or over the age of 65.

Don’t Wait to Get the Relief You Deserve

If you’re experiencing flu symptoms, it’s important to promptly seek care. In the event that you do qualify for antiviral flu medication, it will be most effective if you take it within 48 hours after you begin experiencing symptoms. And even if you don’t end up needing to take an antiviral, speaking to a professional will put you on the road to relief as early as possible.

Luckily, PhysicianOne Urgent Care makes it easy for Franklin residents and visitors to receive flu treatment. Our local immediate care center—which you’ll find at 648 Old West Central Street, near Starbucks—is open every day of the year with extended hours and doesn’t require appointments. We also offer 24/7 telemedicine services for patients who prefer to receive care remotely. If you have any questions, call us at 860-650-3848 and speak to one of our friendly team members.

"Throughout the visit I felt like the staff really cared. The Doctor took his time talking with me about my symptoms, and I felt like he listened to all my concerns and took that into consideration when recommending the right treatment. Thank you!"

Patient

"I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care."

Patient
Westwood, MA

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today."
