Offering Prompt COVID-19 Testing in Rocky Hill, CT

Doctor providing a COVID-19 test to a woman.

For prompt COVID-19 testing and treatment in Rocky Hill, Connecticut, visit PhysicianOne Urgent Care. We are open seven days per week with extended hours, and you don’t even need to make an appointment beforehand. While we encourage you to schedule a Virtual Visit where one of our practitioners can evaluate your symptoms and make a recommendation on whether or not you need a COVID-19 test (if so, your test will be prioritized when you arrive), you can also simply stop by our urgent care center at a time that’s convenient for you.

Our COVID-19 Tests

We offer three types of COVID-19 tests for our patients:

  • Rapid antigen test – This test delivers results within 15 minutes and is typically best for patients exhibiting symptoms. It is delivered via a nasopharyngeal swab.
  • Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test – While results take a bit longer (one to three days), a PCR test is the “gold standard” of COVID-19 testing. It’s useful for patients experiencing symptoms and for those who may need to show proof of a negative test. Like the rapid test, it is conducted via a nasopharyngeal swab.
  • Antibody testing – If you want to know if you were infected with COVID-19 in the past, we can administer an antibody test, which is done with a blood draw.

What Happens If the Test Is Positive

If your COVID-19 test is positive, we will call you with the results and provide any treatment recommendations you need. While there is no set treatment for COVID-19 at this time, we can prescribe medication to address the symptoms you’re experiencing, such as a cough suppressant, fever reducer, or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) to relieve any headaches or body aches.

"The overall care I received was excellent! I also appreciate your affiliation with Yale New Haven Hospital."

Patient

"Throughout the visit I felt like the staff really cared. The Doctor took his time talking with me about my symptoms, and I felt like he listened to all my concerns and took that into consideration when recommending the right treatment. Thank you!"

Patient
Hamden, CT

"I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care."

Patient
Westwood, MA

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today."
