PhysicianOne Urgent Care Norwich

Norwich, CT, Patients Can Trust Our Experienced Urgent Care Team

Since being founded by a team of physicians in 2008, PhysicianOne Urgent Care has become one of the top choices for walk-in urgent care in Connecticut. We’re proud to have been the first urgent care center in the state to be certified by the Urgent Care Association (UCA), the largest trade and professional association in urgent care. We are affiliated with Yale New Haven Health System, one of the nation’s most prestigious healthcare systems. We opened our Norwich urgent care center in 2013, and we continue to provide high-quality walk-in care to help local patients feel better, faster.

Our Walk-In Urgent Care Services

Many people only think of urgent care centers when they’re injured or feeling ill. While we provide prompt, skilled treatment for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries — including sinus infections, strep throat, asthma, fractures, sprains, and many other conditions — that’s not all we do. We also offer:

At PhysicianOne Urgent Care, we understand that work, school, and other obligations can make it difficult to make physician visits during traditional business hours. That’s why we offer after-hours urgent care and are open every day of the year, including weekends and holidays. And, because we never require appointments, you can stop in whenever it is most convenient for you, without needing to call beforehand. You’ll also be glad to know that we offer affordable self-pay rates and accept most major health insurance plans.

Urgent Care patients will be seen as quickly as possible and prioritized over the COVID-19 patients in line.

Offering Testing for COVID-19 Symptoms

PhysicianOne Urgent Care offers COVID-19 testing for patients with or without symptoms. We offer PCR and Rapid (antigen) testing, as well as antibody testing. Simply walk in to be tested, or reserve your spot online for your test. You can also start your test with a Virtual Visit, meeting with one of our providers via telehealth first, and your subsequent in-center test will be expedited. Common symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, loss of taste or smell, and general malaise, but these symptoms can also be attributed to the common cold and the flu. That’s why it’s a good idea to get tested to rule out COVID-19.

Here at our urgent care center, we also offer antibody testing. This test can determine whether COVID-19 virus antibodies are present in your blood, which means you had the virus at some point in the past, even if you didn’t have any symptoms. In fact, the World Health Organization estimates that up to 80% of cases are mild or asymptomatic. Getting tested for COVID-19 antibodies helps researchers learn more about the virus’s immunity and is an important first step in learning more about this virus.

24/7 Telehealth Services

At PhysicianOne Urgent Care, we want you to know that you always have full access to our experienced team of healthcare professionals—even if you must (or would prefer to) stay safely at home. How? We offer telehealth services. Using your laptop, smartphone, or other electronic devices, you can participate in a convenient virtual visit with a trusted provider.

Telemedicine allows you to connect with a medical professional in real-time without having to travel to our urgent care center for an in-person appointment. Instead, you and your provider can have a private, computerized video meeting. This is an efficient way for you to receive personalized medical advice and discuss non-life-threatening symptoms, such as a low-grade fever or cough, which can potentially be resolved without a traditional office visit. You can rest assured that our telehealth services are HIPAA compliant and that your personal information will never be compromised.

At PhysicianOne Urgent Care, we value face-to-face interactions and always enjoy seeing our patients. However, we also know that is not always possible in today’s world, especially given the increased importance of containing the spread of germs and illnesses. To protect our collective health, it is vital for everyone to take appropriate precautions, and one of the best ways to do so is to stay home when you aren’t feeling well. But, this does not preclude you from seeking medical attention if you need it. You can request a virtual appointment with a PhysicianOne Urgent Care provider at any time. As we continually adapt to a rapidly changing healthcare environment, your health remains our top priority.

"The overall care I received was excellent! I also appreciate your affiliation with Yale New Haven Hospital."

Patient
Derby, CT

"Throughout the visit I felt like the staff really cared. The Doctor took his time talking with me about my symptoms, and I felt like he listened to all my concerns and took that into consideration when recommending the right treatment. Thank you!"

Patient
Hamden, CT

"I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care."

Patient
Westwood, MA

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today."
