A young Black sneezes into a tissue while sitting on the couch.

For prompt bronchitis treatment from a caring team of clinicians, come to PhysicianOne Urgent Care. Our facility in Newtown, Connecticut, is open seven days per week with extended evening hours and staffed with highly experienced medical practitioners who are committed to delivering individualized care. What’s more, we treat patients of all ages, so even if your tiniest family member is struggling with bronchitis symptoms, we can help.

What Is Bronchitis?

When we breathe in air, it enters through our mouth or nose and travels down the back of the throat, through the larynx, and through our trachea (windpipe). From there, the air moves down into our bronchial tubes, which are located in the lungs, to supply air to the lungs. A viral infection can cause the bronchial tubes to become inflamed and produce excess mucus, leading to the common symptoms of bronchitis, such as:

  • Coughing
  • Congestion and sneezing
  • Fatigue
  • Headache
  • Body aches
  • Fever and chills
  • Chest discomfort

Over-the-counter medication, such as cough suppressants, ibuprofen, and acetaminophen, can help manage your symptoms as your body fights the infection. But sometimes, these medications aren’t enough. That’s when you should come to PhysicianOne Urgent Care for prompt bronchitis treatment.

How Bronchitis Is Treated

When you visit our urgent care center, we will learn about your symptoms, discuss your medical history, and possibly conduct a few tests. We may recommend a sputum test to discern if you’re dealing with a bacterial infection (in which case, antibiotic medication may be prescribed) and/or a COVID-19 test.

At PhysicianOne Urgent Care, we’ve got you. Visit our facility in Newtown today to receive the bronchitis treatment you need. You can also schedule a Virtual Visit with our team to receive care from the comfort of home.

"Throughout the visit I felt like the staff really cared. The Doctor took his time talking with me about my symptoms, and I felt like he listened to all my concerns and took that into consideration when recommending the right treatment. Thank you!"

Patient
Hamden, CT

"I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care."

Patient
Westwood, MA

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today."
