PhysicianOne Urgent Care Groton

The Premier Urgent Care Center Serving Groton, CT & Surrounding Communities

If you’re in need of walk-in urgent care in the Groton, Connecticut, area, turn to PhysicianOne Urgent Care. We were founded by a team of physicians in 2008, and we’ve been serving local patients at our Groton office since 2014. We were Connecticut’s first urgent care center to be certified by the Urgent Care Association (UCA), and we’re proud to be an affiliate of the esteemed Yale New Haven Health System.

Our Walk-In Urgent Care Services

At PhysicianOne Urgent Care, we pride ourselves on offering a wide range of urgent care services to pediatric and adult patients, including:

We’re open 365 days per year with extended urgent care hours, and we never require appointments. Instead of waiting to schedule an appointment for these services with your primary care provider, you can stop into our Groton location at a time that is convenient for you. To minimize wait times, we offer a convenient online check-in system. You’ll also be glad to know that we accept most major health insurance plans and offer affordable self-pay rates.

Urgent Care patients will be seen as quickly as possible and prioritized over the COVID-19 patients in line.

COVID-19 Symptoms Evaluated Here

PhysicianOne Urgent Care offers COVID-19 testing for patients with or without symptoms. We offer PCR and Rapid (antigen) testing, as well as antibody testing. Simply walk in to be tested, or reserve your spot online for your test. You can also start your test with a Virtual Visit, meeting with one of our providers via telehealth first, and your subsequent in-center test will be expedited. Common symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, loss of taste or smell, and general malaise, but these symptoms can also be attributed to the common cold and the flu. That’s why it’s a good idea to get tested to rule out COVID-19.

Here at our urgent care center, we also offer antibody testing. This test can determine whether COVID-19 virus antibodies are present in your blood, which means you had the virus at some point in the past, even if you didn’t have any symptoms. In fact, the World Health Organization estimates that up to 80% of cases are mild or asymptomatic. Getting tested for COVID-19 antibodies helps researchers learn more about the virus’s immunity and is an important first step in learning more about this virus.

24/7 Telehealth – We Are Always Available to You

At PhysicianOne Urgent Care, we believe it is vital for our providers to stay closely connected to our patients, and this is true now more than ever. With a goal to keep everyone safe and minimize the spread of germs, we’re pleased to offer telehealth services. Through the use of modern technology, we are now able to consult with our patients remotely via HIPAA-compliant video conferencing tools.

You might choose to take advantage of this convenient healthcare option if you are experiencing non-life-threatening symptoms, such as a cough or fever. Why? Telemedicine makes it possible for you to receive individualized medical advice without ever leaving your home.

The fact is, some non-emergency health issues can be effectively addressed without the need for a face-to-face meeting with a doctor. Instead, a trusted PhysicianOne Urgent Care provider can assess your symptoms, answer your questions, and suggest appropriate self-care options to help you recover and feel better—all via a smartphone, laptop, or desktop computer. So, why risk venturing outside if you don’t have to?

Your health and well-being are important to the team at PhysicianOne Urgent Care, and we want you to know that we are doing everything possible to keep you safe during these tumultuous times—and always. If you aren’t feeling well but would prefer to stay put, request a virtual visit with an experienced provider.

"The overall care I received was excellent! I also appreciate your affiliation with Yale New Haven Hospital."

Patient
Derby, CT

"Throughout the visit I felt like the staff really cared. The Doctor took his time talking with me about my symptoms, and I felt like he listened to all my concerns and took that into consideration when recommending the right treatment. Thank you!"

Patient
Hamden, CT

"I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care."

Patient
Westwood, MA

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today."
