Urgent Care Center With X-Ray Services in Enfield, CT

Urgent Care With X-Ray Enfield CT

PhysicianOne Urgent Care is pleased to offer X-ray testing at our facility in Enfield, Connecticut. Visiting our immediate care center for X-ray imaging, rather than an emergency room (ER), can save you considerable time and hassle. That’s because ERs typically prioritize life- and limb-threatening conditions, so if you don’t fall into that category, chances are good that you’ll be waiting for quite a while to be seen. Our urgent care center offers significantly shorter average wait times for your convenience. Please call ahead for same-day X-ray availability.

What Is an X-Ray Test?

X-rays are very common, but not many people know how they actually work. An X-ray test uses electromagnetic radiation to create an image of the inside of the body. X-rays travel from one side of the body to a detector on the other side. Because different parts of the body absorb varying amounts of radiation, they show up differently in the resulting image. For example:

  • Bones, which absorb the most radiation, appear white
  • Soft tissues, which absorb less radiation than bones, appear grey
  • Air, which absorbs the least amount of radiation, appears black

We can use X-rays to diagnose a number of injuries and illnesses, including fractures, dislocations, pneumonia, kidney stones, bowel obstructions, and embedded foreign bodies. Once we’ve reached a diagnosis, we’ll recommend a course of treatment for your specific needs.

Son kissing mother

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today.
