Flu Tests & Treatment Available in Enfield, CT

Flu Test Enfield CTIf you’re experiencing symptoms of the flu—such as fever, chills, congestion, sore throat, fatigue, and muscle aches—you can turn to the team of professionals at PhysicianOne Urgent Care in Enfield, Connecticut. We’re a trusted immediate care provider, and we’re pleased to offer rapid influenza tests and flu treatment for patients in this community.

What to Expect During a Rapid Flu Test

It’s important to note that not every patient requires a flu test. If we determine that a flu test is necessary to confirm your diagnosis, however, we’ll rub a cotton swab either inside your nose or along the back of your throat to obtain a mucus sample. Once we’ve done so, we’ll send the swab to our on-site laboratory to test it for the flu virus. We’re often able to provide our patients with their flu test results within just 15 to 20 minutes.

Get the Care You Need Now

If you suspect that you might have the flu, don’t wait any longer to get the treatment you need. Although not everyone requires antiviral medication like Tamiflu, in cases where it is appropriate, it’s most effective when administered within 48 hours of the onset of symptoms. Even if you don’t require this type of medication, promptly seeking treatment can help you feel better faster and get back to your normal routine as quickly as possible.

Fortunately, if you’re in the Enfield area, you can get the care you deserve without having to wait for an appointment. PhysicianOne Urgent Care offers flu tests and treatment on a walk-in basis. Visit our local immediate care center at 55 Hazard Avenue, near I-190—we’re open 365 days per year with extended hours for your convenience.

"Throughout the visit I felt like the staff really cared. The Doctor took his time talking with me about my symptoms, and I felt like he listened to all my concerns and took that into consideration when recommending the right treatment. Thank you!"

Patient

"I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care."

Patient
Westwood, MA

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today."
