Take Care of Your Health this Holiday Season

December 15, 2021

Flu, colds, COVID-19, oh my! ‘Tis the season for holiday festivities and contagious illness, and medical experts expect this winter might be a rough one.

We understand how important it is to see your loved ones this year because we missed celebrating the holidays in traditional ways last year too. By taking extra precautions, you can keep yourself and your family and friends safe. Here are some ways you can take care of your health this holiday - your loved ones will thank you. ❤️

Get vaccinated
Ice the flu and COVID-19 by getting vaccinated! Visiting loved ones this season increases your chances of contracting a communicable disease, but vaccines are clinically proven to reduce the risk of severe illness and hospitalization. Plus, by getting vaccinated against the flu and COVID-19, you’re playing a part in supporting the health care system.

Use telehealth
Don’t get caught up Googling symptoms or stuck out in the snow, talking to a licensed provider from the comfort of your home is only a click away. Scheduling a virtual visit helps skip the hassle of bundling up the kids and shoveling out the car. The benefit of doing telehealth with an integrated care provider like PhysicianOne Urgent Care means that you can get medical questions answered quickly and then continue your visit in-center for tests, wound care and more.

It’s quick, easy and convenient for busy schedules - speak to a provider before school, work., practice or bedtime! We offer virtual visits Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 9:00pm and on the weekends from 8am to 8pm.

Try out Express COVID-19 Testing
When in doubt, get it checked out. This holiday season, we’re offering Express COVID-19 Testing. If you need to be tested for travel, to see a high-risk family member for the holidays, or for peace of mind, this quick self-pay option is for you! Express COVID-19 Testing is as simple as it sounds, and there is no provider visit.

We recommend that patients who are symptomatic (cough, loss of taste or smell) or have had a known exposure meet with a provider to address any medical concerns. Patients who would like to see a provider before their COVID-19 test can start that visit virtually or come into one of our centers. In these cases, PCR testing remains the gold standard.

Express COVID-19 Testing is a self-pay option and will not be billed through insurance. Testing is available Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 1:30pm at all PhysicianOne Urgent Care locations. Patients can check in online OR simply walk in to the center.

Testing is the best safety net we have to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Don’t wait, we have plenty of tests to go around.

At PhysicianOne, we’ve got you year-round and we are here to help you and your loved ones navigate through these continuous uncertain times. To get your health concerns checked and questions answered, schedule a virtual visit or come into any of our 23 locations in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New York.

Throughout the visit I felt like the staff really cared. The doctor took his time talking with me about my symptoms, and I felt like he listened to all my concerns and took that into consideration when recommending the right treatment. Thank you!
