Yale New Haven Health Acquires PhysicianOne Urgent Care
New Haven, CT (Oct. 6, 2023) – Yale New HavenHealth System (YNHHS) today announced that it has acquired PhysicianOne Urgent Care, the well-respected regional leader in 24/7 urgent care. YNHHS has had a successful clinical affiliation with PhysicianOne for the past six years that helped provide their patients with access to high-quality primary care providers and specialists in the area.
As part of Yale New Haven Health’s commitment to expanding access to high quality services across the region, fully integrating the community’s top-rated 24/7 urgent care provider is a natural next step. The skilled PhysicianOne providers treat a wide variety of illnesses and injuries quickly and with compassion. This acquisition accelerates access to high quality, convenient, and affordable care across the region and bolsters the comprehensive range of health services that YNHHS already offers, including the existing urgent care centers in Fairfield and Milford, NEMG walk-ins across Connecticut, and orthopedic walk-in centers in North Haven and Stamford.
“We are very excited to betaking this step with PhysicianOne,” said Christopher O’Connor, CEO and president, YNHHS. “Yale New Haven Health is committed to meeting the patients where they want to access care and urgent care is a convenient alternative for many people. By providing easier access to a nationally-ranked academic health system and in a fully coordinated manner, the patient truly benefits.”
PhysicianOne Urgent Care provides on-demand, convenient care, going beyond the traditional urgent care model to help patients navigate complicated health care issues. Itis the only provider to provide locally staffed 24/7 telehealth, fully integrated with its in-center urgent care. From illness and injury treatment to rapid diagnostic testing for common respiratory illnesses, to X-ray services, PhysicianOne Urgent Care is a trusted community partner.
“We are excited to join YNHHS and to accelerate access to high-value and coordinated care across the region,” said Lynne Rosen, PhysicianOne Urgent Care CEO. “The combined strengths of our organizations are aligned to improve the experience and clinical care for our patients.”
The State of Connecticut Department of Public Health approved the change in ownership of PhysicianOne to YNHHS in August.
