Urgent Care of CT'S DR. Jeannie Kenkare Makes Connecticut Magazine's "40 Under 40" List

January 2, 2013 – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Urgent Care of Connecticut’s Chief Medical Officer and founding partner Jeannie Kenkare, DO, FAAFP of Cheshire was named to Connecticut Magazine’s 3rd annual “40 under 40” http://www.connecticutmag.com/Connecticut-Magazine/January-2013/40- Under-40-Class-of-2013/ list, which is currently published in the January 2013 edition. The list recognizes Connecticut residents under 40-years-old who are making a visible difference to positively impact and improve the lives of others through their vision and leadership in their respective careers. Individuals are nominated by friends, family, and coworkers and are selected by Connecticut Magazine’s editors.
In 2008, at age 33, Dr. Kenkare co-founded Urgent Care of Connecticut with the goal of easing volume in over-crowded hospital emergency rooms by providing cost-effective access to high-quality healthcare for non-life threatening illnesses and injuries. As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Kenkare provides leadership and expertise to Urgent Care of Connecticut’s staff physicians, mid-level providers, nurses, and clinical staff to implement strategic programs and clinical guidelines.
Almost five years later, Connecticut’s first group of nationally-certified urgent care centers has treated over 100,000 patients and reports patient satisfaction in the 99th percentile from patient survey statistics. Under Dr. Kenkare’s and the executive management team’s leadership, the company has plans for future expansion and growth. In addition, Dr. Kenkare has been called upon by Connecticut legislators and lobbyists to provide her expertise and knowledge to improve healthcare in the state with special emphasis on quality of care, clinical outcomes, and cost-containment.
“We are so incredibly proud of Dr. Kenkare, who through her leadership, determination, expertise, and vision brightens the lives of our patients and Urgent Care of Connecticut colleagues. She is instrumental in allowing our organization to successfully navigate through a rapidly changing healthcare environment to make affordable high-quality medical treatment available to patients in many Connecticut neighborhoods.” said Chief Executive Officer R. Robert Rohatsch, MD, FACEP.
Dr. Kenkare brings years of physician executive experience as a medical director for numerous practices to Urgent Care of Connecticut. She was also assistant director for a hospitalist program at a large healthcare organization. She is an Osteopathic physician board-certified in Family Medicine by the American College of Family Practitioners.
Dr. Kenkare completed her undergraduate studies at Rutgers University in New Jersey and attended medical school at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – School of Osteopathic Medicine (UMDNJ-SOM). She subsequently completed her Family Medicine Residency at Warren Hospital, an affiliate of UMDNJ – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, where she served as chief resident.
She and her family became Connecticut residents in 2003. Dr. Kenkare is an assistant clinical instructor of medicine at Yale School of Medicine where she volunteers her time teaching medical interview techniques to medical students.

Father and Daughter Having Fun

I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care.
