PhysicianOne Urgent Care Supports Read Across America

Leading urgent care organization in the Northeast to support National Education Association’s Read Across America.

BROOKFIELD, CT., MARCH 3, 2017 – In honor of National Read Across America Day on Thursday, March 2, PhysicianOne Urgent Care is donating books to each of the local libraries in their 18 communities throughout Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York.
According to the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), a division of the U.S. Department of Education, children who are read to at home enjoy a substantial advantage over children who are not and they have a higher success rate at school.
“Child and youth wellness is a cause we are proud to support across all of our centers, in each of our communities. We partner with local libraries to bring family-friendly events to the communities, promoting literacy, wellness, and education through family movie nights, teddy bear check-ups and story time,” said Andrea Tager, Director of Marketing at PhysicianOne Urgent Care. “We have been in many of our communities for a number of years, and we are proud to give back to the communities that mean so much to us.”
Founded in 2008 by three physicians in Connecticut, PhysicianOne Urgent Care is an industry-leader with 12 locations in Connecticut, three in Massachusetts, and two in Westchester County, New York. Additional locations are set to open throughout 2017.
“We founded PhysicianOne Urgent Care with the goal of providing convenient access to high-quality, evidence-based urgent medical care for patients when a primary care provider is unavailable,” said Dr. Jeannie Kenkare, PhysicianOne Urgent Care co-founder and chief medical officer. “We believe high-quality care extends beyond setting broken bones and sutures. As we continue to grow, we continue to support the health and well-being of each patient as a whole, and that starts with healthy families in healthy communities.”

Son kissing mother

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today.
