Caring & Compassionate Flu Treatment for Residents of Groton, CT

Flu Treatment Groton CTAre you experiencing nasal congestion, coughing, a sore throat, chills, fatigue, and achiness? Do you have a fever of 100°F or higher? If so, you may have the flu. Fortunately, if you’re in Groton, Connecticut, or a surrounding area, you can turn to PhysicianOne Urgent Care for influenza (flu) treatment. Our practice was founded by a team of physicians in 2008, and we’ve been treating patients at our Groton location since 2014.

What Does Flu Treatment Typically Involve?

When you visit PhysicianOne Urgent Care for flu treatment, one of our experienced providers will ask you about your symptoms and perform an examination to determine if you have the flu virus (in some cases, we may also use a rapid flu test to rule out other conditions, although this generally isn’t necessary). If we determine that you have the flu, we’ll recommend a course of treatment tailored to your specific needs, which may include an antiviral flu medication like Tamiflu.
It’s important to come in for flu treatment as soon as possible once you start feeling ill, since antiviral medications are most effective if taken within two days after flu symptoms appear. Even if antiviral medications aren’t appropriate for your specific condition, seeking prompt treatment can help you feel better as quickly as possible and minimize the risk of flu complications.

"Throughout the visit I felt like the staff really cared. The Doctor took his time talking with me about my symptoms, and I felt like he listened to all my concerns and took that into consideration when recommending the right treatment. Thank you!"

Patient
Hamden, CT

"I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care."

Patient
Westwood, MA

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today."
