Eye Infection Treatment Without the Need for an Appointment in Waltham, MA

Picture of a woman touching her eye in pain.

Are you experiencing redness, itchiness, tearing, or a gritty sensation in one or both eyes? Was there a crust over your eye when you woke up this morning? These are some of the telltale signs of conjunctivitis (pink eye), one of the many conditions treated at PhysicianOne Urgent Care in Waltham, Massachusetts. As with all of our urgent care services, we’re pleased to offer eye infection treatment on a walk-in basis.

How to Treat Pink Eye

Pink eye often resolves on its own, without the need for medical intervention. The following treatments may provide relief until pink eye symptoms resolve:

  • Cleaning your eyelid with a wet cloth
  • Holding a compress (warm or cold) over your eye
  • Using over-the-counter eyedrops (artificial tears)

If your symptoms persist more than 12 to 24 hours or include eye pain, light sensitivity, blurred vision, or a feeling of having something stuck in your eye, you should consult with a trained medical provider.

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today.
