What Is Included in a Camp Physical

A camp physical typically involves:

  • Reviewing the child’s family and medical history as well as his or her immunization record
  • Recording height, weight, and vitals
  • Performing a vision screening
  • Evaluating the child’s ears, nose, throat, lungs, heart, abdomen, and joints

If your child has an underlying condition, such as asthma or diabetes, it will be noted on the examination form and recommended accommodations listed. Any required immunizations can likely be administered during this physical, too.
