Fever Symptoms Waterbury CT

PhysicianOne Urgent Care—a trusted immediate care provider serving patients in Waterbury, Connecticut, and surrounding areas—is pleased to offer walk-in fever treatment. We’ve been assisting patients with a wide array of health care concerns since 2008, and we’re proud to have been the first urgent care center in Connecticut certified by the Urgent Care Association (UCA).

What Is Considered a Fever?

A fever occurs when someone’s body temperature increases beyond its usual range, usually due to an illness. You may have heard that 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit is the “normal” body temperature, but this can vary from person to person, usually falling somewhere between 97 and 99 degrees among adults, and between 97.9 and 100.4 degrees among babies and children. While mild fevers in adults (those below 103 degrees Fahrenheit) typically don’t require professional care, even slight fevers in infants and toddlers could be a cause for concern.

Could It Be COVID?

Given the ongoing COVID crisis, you may be wondering whether your fever is a sign of COVID. Although a fever can result from COVID, it’s important to remember that there are countless other conditions that could be causing your fever. However, if you’re concerned that you might have COVID, we invite you to schedule a Virtual Visit. After evaluating your condition, we’ll let you know whether you need to stop by our office for a drive-up test.

Throughout the visit I felt like the staff really cared. The doctor took his time talking with me about my symptoms, and I felt like he listened to all my concerns and took that into consideration when recommending the right treatment. Thank you!
