Offering Urgent Care STD Testing & Treatment for Norwalk, CT, Residents & Visitors

STD Testing Norwalk CT

PhysicianOne Urgent Care is pleased to provide testing and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) at our Norwalk, Connecticut, location. We test for a variety of STDs, including chlamydia, gonorrhea, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, herpes, HIV, and syphilis. After performing a physical exam and conducting some testing — which may include taking a urine sample, drawing blood, or collecting a tissue sample using a sterile cotton swab — we’ll be able to let you know if you have an STD and recommend an appropriate course of treatment.

Can STDs Be Treated?

Being diagnosed with an STD can be incredibly stressful, but you can rest easy knowing that almost all STDs are treatable, and most are curable. Treatment for chlamydia, one of the most common STDs, usually involves taking oral antibiotics for one to two weeks. Gonorrhea treatment also involves antibiotics. Some viruses, such as HIV and HPV, currently don’t have a cure but can be managed with treatment. Based on your test results, our knowledgeable providers will prescribe treatment that’s tailored to your specific condition.

Son kissing mother

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today.
