PhysicianOne Urgent Care—a trusted immediate care provider—is pleased to provide walk-in camp physicals for families in Norwalk, Connecticut, and the surrounding area. Many camps require participants to undergo a physical examination prior to their arrival to make sure that they’re healthy enough to participate in the planned activities. In addition to camp physicals, our experienced practitioners also offer kids’ physicals for school and sports teams.

What to Expect During a Camp Physical

If this is going to be your child’s first time heading off to camp, you might be unsure of what the required physical exam entails. To start off, you should plan on bringing any paperwork provided by the camp, along with your child’s immunization record, your driver’s license and insurance card (if applicable), and our $80 flat fee. We’ll generally begin the examination by asking about your child’s medical history and immunization record, as well as your family medical history. Then, we’ll check your child’s:

  • Height
  • Weight
  • Vitals (including blood pressure, pulse, and temperature)
  • Vision
  • Ears
  • Nose
  • Throat
  • Heart
  • Lungs
  • Abdomen
  • Major joints

No Appointment Required

When you’re rushing to get your child ready for camp, the last thing you want to do is wait for an appointment for a physical. Luckily, with PhysicianOne Urgent Care, you won’t have to. We’re pleased to offer camp physicals on a walk-in basis, so you can stop in whenever you have some time available. Our Norwalk urgent care center is located at 346 Main Avenue in the old Hour Building, and we’re open 365 days per year with extended hours.

Father and Daughter Having Fun

I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care.
