Flu Shots & Other Vaccines Available at Our Urgent Care Center in Glastonbury, CT
PhysicianOne Urgent Care is pleased to offer flu shots and various other vaccinations for members of the Glastonbury, Connecticut, community. For most people, it’s a smart idea to get a flu shot each year. Indeed, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend that all healthy individuals receive the influenza vaccine. And, according to the CDC, it’s especially important for the following high-risk groups to receive an annual flu shot:
- Adults over 65
- Pregnant women
- Individuals with a long-term health condition such as asthma, a blood disorder, COPD, cystic fibrosis, or heart disease
- Individuals with a weakened immune system due to a disease such as HIV or AIDS, or due to a medical treatment such as chemotherapy or chronic steroids
Although the CDC also recommends that children under five years old receive the flu vaccine, we don’t offer flu shots to children under five at our Connecticut locations. Please check with your child’s pediatrician to see if he or she needs a flu shot, and if so, where you can obtain it.
The skilled providers at our Glastonbury urgent care center also perform vaccinations for the following illnesses:
- Hepatitis A
- Hepatitis B
- Pertussis (whooping cough)
