Urgent Care With X-Ray Services in Connecticut, Massachusetts & New York

When you need to have an X-ray imaging test completed but your primary care provider (PCP) doesn’t have any appointments available, you might assume that you’ll need to spend hours in an ER waiting room, where you’ll no doubt rack up an exorbitant bill. Luckily, as long as your condition isn’t life- or limb-threatening, there’s a more time- and cost-efficient alternative: visiting an urgent care with X-ray equipment.

If you’re in Connecticut, Massachusetts, or New York, you can rely on PhysicianOne Urgent Care for X-ray services. We’re a physician-founded practice that’s been in business since 2008, and we skillfully treat patients of all ages. And because your X-ray will be over-read by a board-certified radiologist, you can rest assured that you’ll receive an accurate diagnosis, which we’ll then use to formulate a customized treatment plan. Please call ahead for same-day X-ray availability.

What Are X-Rays Used to Diagnose?

The experienced providers at PhysicianOne Urgent Care regularly use X-rays to diagnose:

  • Bowel obstructions
  • Dislocated joints
  • Embedded foreign objects
  • Fractures
  • Kidney stones
  • Lung congestion
  • Pneumonia

How Do X-Rays Work?

X-rays are a type of high-energy electromagnetic radiation. When X-rays pass through someone’s body, the various bodily structures absorb the energy at different rates. Once the X-rays reach the other side of the person’s body, a detector uses them to produce an image. Denser tissue (where it’s more difficult for X-rays to pass through) will show up white on the resulting image, while softer tissue (where it’s easier for X-rays to pass through) will appear dark.

What to Expect During an X-Ray Imaging Test

If you’ve never undergone an X-ray before, you may be unsure what the process involves. Depending on the area of your body being X-rayed, you may be asked to either stand, sit, or lie down. The technician will position you in the correct way, then leave the room to activate the machine. You might hear some clicking or buzzing noises, but you won’t feel any pain. It’s important to stay as still as possible to prevent blurriness and produce a clear image.

Son kissing mother

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today.
