August 20, 2014 – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
The state of Connecticut requires Pre-Participation Physical Exams (PPE) before being able to participate in any school-sanctioned sporting event, so PhysicianOne Urgent Care is offering a 40% discount on walk-in physicals at all of their local Urgent Care centers.
Brookfield, CT — Sports provide children with a fun opportunity to meet new people and stay fit. To prevent potentially serious injuries, the state of Connecticut requires that all young athletes receive Pre-Participation Physical Exams (PPE) before they engage in any type of school-sanctioned sporting event. To help parents and guardians comply with State regulations, PhysicianOne Urgent Care is offering a 40% discount on walk-in physicals at all of their local Urgent Care centers.
With the first day of school looming on the horizon, busy parents are racing to get their kids seen before the youth sporting season begins. According to Dr. Robert Rohatsch, CEO and founder of PhysicianOne Urgent Care, “Walk-in exams provide a convenient alternative to doctor visits, which are often difficult to schedule.”
“Most family physicians are extremely busy this time of year, and that can make it hard for parents to schedule Pre-Participation Physical Exams without having to take off work,” he said. “At PhysicianOne Urgent Care, our experienced staff is able to take care of last minute school, sport, and camp physicals according to our patients’ schedules.”
A Pre-Participation Physical Exam involves a medical history review and a full physical exam, with a focus on a careful cardiovascular, neurological, and musculoskeletal evaluation. A full medical history tells the provider about any past injuries or illnesses to help him or her diagnose future problems. The physical exam allows the provider to uncover any limitations or unknown health problems that could put a child at a greater risk of injury while playing a specific type of sport.
While PhysicianOne Urgent Care provides last-minute physicals, it’s generally best to seek an exam as early as possible, so there will be plenty of time to get any secondary testing or treatment if necessary.
School, sports, and camp physicals are currently being offered for a limited time at a discounted price of $80 at all PhysicianOne Urgent Care locations across Connecticut. No appointments are needed, but up-to-date documentation of previous immunizations and all examination forms are required at the time of your visit.

"Throughout the visit I felt like the staff really cared. The Doctor took his time talking with me about my symptoms, and I felt like he listened to all my concerns and took that into consideration when recommending the right treatment. Thank you!"

Patient

"I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care."

Patient
Westwood, MA

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today."
