Connecticut’s leading urgent care opens 17th location, third in Massachusetts, at Wellington Circle Plaza in Medford

MEDFORD, MA. – The original Urgent Care of Connecticut continues to expand, becoming the Urgent Care in Massachusetts with the opening of its third Massachusetts location, in Medford, this week.
PhysicianOne Urgent Care’s newest center opens Wednesday, February 1, on Mystic Valley Parkway, in Wellington Circle Plaza, Medford.
“We are thrilled to announce our expansion beyond Chestnut Hill and Waltham to the residents of Medford,” said Lynne Rosen, Chief Executive Officer. “Boston is a healthcare hub, with many options for quality care across the entire continuum. PhysicianOne Urgent Care is quickly becoming known as the choice for high-quality, convenient urgent care in Massachusetts.”
Founded in 2008 by three physicians in Connecticut, PhysicianOne Urgent Care is an industry-leader with 12 locations in Connecticut, three in Massachusetts, and two in Westchester, New York. A fourth Massachusetts center will open in Westwood, in March.
“Ten years ago, we realized the need for patient access to convenient and high-quality care when primary care physicians were not available and a trip to the Emergency Department wasn’t warranted,” said Dr. Jeannie Kenkare, Chief Medical Officer and founding partner. “Today, we look forward to bringing that access, delivered by trusted providers who practice evidence-based medicine, in a full-service setting, to residents in Medford when they need us most.”
“Patients can check wait times and check-in online or can walk-in 365 days per year,” said Andrea Tager, Director of Marketing. “Our approach is truly patient-centric, allowing patients to access care on their terms and schedule. Check-in from your phone on the Orange Line or before you leave work and we’ll text you when we’re ready to see you. Quality medicine for the modern – and busy – consumer.”

"Throughout the visit I felt like the staff really cared. The Doctor took his time talking with me about my symptoms, and I felt like he listened to all my concerns and took that into consideration when recommending the right treatment. Thank you!"

Patient
Hamden, CT

"I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care."

Patient
Westwood, MA

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today."
