Flu Treatment Stratford CTPhysicianOne Urgent Care is here to provide flu treatment whenever you need it in Stratford, Connecticut. In the middle of a Sunday? We’re open. After dinner on a Tuesday? We’re open. Christmas morning? We’re open. We mean it when we say we’re here for you 365 days per year. You can come straight to our urgent care center where one of our experienced practitioners will offer prompt flu treatment that meets your needs.

Do I Have the Flu?

The flu is a virus that is accompanied by miserable symptoms, such as:

  • Runny nose
  • Congestion
  • Coughing
  • Fevers
  • Chills
  • Muscle aches
  • Headaches
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea

However, just because you’re experiencing some of these symptoms doesn’t mean you automatically have the flu. Sometimes, these symptoms can point to a different illness, such as a respiratory infection, strep throat, or the common cold. Nevertheless, you should still come to PhysicianOne Urgent Care for flu treatment as soon as possible because antiviral medications — which we prescribe to some patients — are most effective if taken within 48 hours of the onset of symptoms. It’s especially important to come to our urgent care center for flu treatment if you are over the age of 65, have a chronic condition, or have a weakened immune system, as it’s more likely that you could develop serious complications as a result of the flu. (Children under the age of five are also susceptible.) And, if it turns out that you don’t have the flu, we can get you started on a course of treatment that’s suited to your condition.

Treating the Flu

Our experienced practitioners will evaluate you by taking note of the symptoms you are experiencing and learning about your medical history. This evaluation is often enough for us to diagnose you with the flu or another illness. From there, we will develop a comprehensive treatment plan, prescribe medication if necessary, and send you home to get lots of rest.

"Throughout the visit I felt like the staff really cared. The Doctor took his time talking with me about my symptoms, and I felt like he listened to all my concerns and took that into consideration when recommending the right treatment. Thank you!"

Patient
Hamden, CT

"I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care."

Patient
Westwood, MA

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today."
