PhysicianOne Urgent Care Helps More Than One Million Patients During Pandemic Surge

Urgent care provider accelerates patient care and services to support to communities across Connecticut, Massachusetts and New York

BROOKFIELD, CT., May 21, 2021 — Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, PhysicianOne Urgent Care reported that over the past six months, it has cared for more than one million patients across its 23 urgent care locations and at multiple schools, business and state-sponsored testing sites. The PhysicianOne Urgent Care team focuses on providing high-quality, convenient access to affordable health care in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New York.

Since its inception in 2008, PhysicianOne Urgent Care has led the urgent care industry in its ability to respond quickly to the changing needs of the patient community around them. At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, PhysicianOne was able to pivot resources to provide telemedicine services to an expanded population of patients who needed immediate access to care as well as to branch out to provide services in schools, nursing homes and community testing sites.  PhysicianOne Urgent Care’s integrated care model ensures that patients receive the care they need and that there is a seamless follow-up with their primary care and/or specialist as needed.

“It is truly amazing that we have reached the one million patients cared for threshold in such a short span of time. I am proud of the continuous commitment and flexibility of the PhysicianOne Urgent Care team to help patients navigate the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Dr. Jeannie Kenkare, Chief Medical Officer and Co-Founder of PhysicianOne Urgent Care. “This pandemic has challenged us to find new ways to become a trusted resource for patients as they sought out meaningful information to help guide their decisions, as well as a resource to support our communities in containing the virus.  As we emerge from this pandemic, we are committed to maintaining that trusted relationship with patients and our communities and will work just as hard to keep them safe and healthy. We look forward to being able to continue to expand our services in meaningful ways.”

Throughout the pandemic, PhysicianOne Urgent Care has not only maintained excellent patient service but actively sought ways to improve the experience of patients. From chat functionality and a dedicated call center to telehealth and bringing necessary COVID-19 testing infrastructure into local communities, PhysicianOne Urgent Care quickly responded to the growing COVID-19 crisis to support the health of the local communities the company serves.

PhysicianOne Urgent Care continues to provide critical COVID-19 testing across its locations and is able to deliver antigen results in moments and PCR test results with next day turn around.  To book an in-center visit or virtual visit today, visit p1uc.com.

"The overall care I received was excellent! I also appreciate your affiliation with Yale New Haven Hospital."

"Throughout the visit I felt like the staff really cared. The Doctor took his time talking with me about my symptoms, and I felt like he listened to all my concerns and took that into consideration when recommending the right treatment. Thank you!"

Patient
Hamden, CT

"I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care."

Patient
Westwood, MA

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today."
