PhysicianOne Urgent Care Donates $6,000 to Local YMCAs to Help Families Safely Return to Summer Activities

Leading urgent care provider gives back to families across the region

July 19, 2021 (Waltham, Massachusetts)PhysicianOne Urgent Care announced today that it will donate $6,000 to local YMCAs across Connecticut, Massachusetts and New York to help fund summer activities such as camp and swim lessons for local children in the communities it serves.

“Our team at PhysicianOne Urgent Care recognizes how challenging the past year and a half has been, particularly for families. We thought, what better way to recapture ‘normal’ than helping as may children as possible safely return to fun summer programs.” said Lynne Rosen, Chief Executive Office at PhysicianOne Urgent Care. “We are proud to give back to our local communities through the YMCA’s extraordinary programs to support local children and families.

To celebrate parents and the extreme challenges many families went through during the last year, PhysicianOne Urgent Care launched a social media community-giving campaign that took place between Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. The urgent care provider used engagement on specific posts to determine the donation amount.

“We are grateful for the donation to the YMCA of Greater Boston, and the other YMCA locations across the region,” said James Morton, CEO, the YMCA of Greater Boston. “Hard-working families in our communities rely on the YMCA programs for critical resources, including childcare, camps and swim lessons. These donations will help provide scholarships for families who need the support of these services but might not otherwise be able to afford them.”

The YMCA of Greater Hartford and the YMCA of Central & Northern Westchester branches will receive the donation from PhysicianOne Urgent Care in Connecticut and New York, respectively.

"Throughout the visit I felt like the staff really cared. The Doctor took his time talking with me about my symptoms, and I felt like he listened to all my concerns and took that into consideration when recommending the right treatment. Thank you!"

Patient
Hamden, CT

"I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care."

Patient
Westwood, MA

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today."
