Beginning today, PhysicianOne Urgent Care will offer free blood pressure screenings in Massachusetts and New York
CHESTNUT HILL, MA., MAY 23, 2018 — Routine visits with a primary care provider are extremely important for preventative care and maintenance of chronic conditions. However, between visits with your PCP, where do you go for convenient care?
Since 2008, PhysicianOne Urgent Care has provided urgent medical care on a walk-in basis, 365 days per year. And today, the company announced that, in Massachusetts and New York, they will offer free blood pressure screenings.
“High blood pressure often has no obvious symptoms to alert patients when present. Nevertheless, when left untreated it can cause significant damage to the heart, brain, eyes, kidneys and more,” says Dr. Jeannie Kenkare, Chief Medical Officer and co-founder of PhysicianOne Urgent Care. “PhysicianOne Urgent Care may be the first point of access for consumers with hypertension (or other chronic conditions). And, unlike a pharmacy setting that may offer blood pressure tests, our full-service medical facilities, staffed by experienced providers, ensure that the patient will be appropriately evaluated and referred to get the proper follow-up care. That’s why we are happy to begin offering free blood pressure screenings in our centers.”
The free blood pressure screenings are available in Massachusetts and New York, seven days per week, to adults over the age of 18 years. Patients can walk in without an appointment or can check in online to reserve a spot in the wait queue. PhysicianOne Urgent Care will help with the first step towards managing the condition – by offering a free screening – and will provide guidance regarding next steps.

"Throughout the visit I felt like the staff really cared. The Doctor took his time talking with me about my symptoms, and I felt like he listened to all my concerns and took that into consideration when recommending the right treatment. Thank you!"

Patient
Hamden, CT

"I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care."

Patient
Westwood, MA

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today."
