PhysicianOne Urgent Care celebrates 10-year anniversary and thanks local communities for continued support
SOUTHBURY, CT., JULY 11, 2018 — On July 15, PhysicianOne Urgent Care will celebrate its ten-year anniversary.
Founded in 2008, with its first location in Southbury, Connecticut, PhysicianOne Urgent Care has grown to 17 locations across Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Westchester County, New York.
“When my partners and I founded PhysicianOne Urgent Care in 2008, we did so with the vision of providing a convenient, cost-effective, and high-quality alternative to the ER,” says Dr. Jeannie Kenkare, Chief Medical Officer and co-founder of PhysicianOne Urgent Care. Prior to founding PhysicianOne Urgent Care, Dr. Kenkare and her two partners had been working at a local community hospital. During that time, they witnessed patients presenting to the emergency department  for illnesses and injuries that did not warrant a – costly and lengthy – trip to the emergency room, through did require urgent attention. However, these patients had no alternative if their primary care providers were not available or didn’t provide the needed services.
And, so, the original PhysicianOne Urgent Care was launched under the name Urgent Care of Southbury.
“I’m proud that we were the first in our region to deliver the comprehensive services we provide in urgent care for all ages, setting the standard for urgent care in Connecticut. Over the past 10 years, we have continued to expand our high-quality model across Connecticut and into neighboring New York and Massachusetts,” said Dr. Kenkare.
PhysicianOne Urgent Care was the first urgent care organization in Connecticut to achieve Urgent Care Association Accreditation, a nationally-recognized urgent care industry standard for quality and safety.
“Since 2008, we’ve prided ourselves on not only practicing high-quality, evidence-based medicine, but providing an exceptional experience for each patient. We’ve had the privilege of caring for hundreds of thousands of people. We follow up with each and every patient to be sure they had an exceptional visit. Our loyal patients have allowed us to do what we do each day, and we thank them for their continued support,” said Dr. Kenkare.
PhysicianOne Urgent Care has hours that extend beyond the normal primary care provider hours, and has locations across Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Westchester County, New York. Walk in or check in online to any PhysicianOne Urgent Care location, seven days per week.

"Throughout the visit I felt like the staff really cared. The Doctor took his time talking with me about my symptoms, and I felt like he listened to all my concerns and took that into consideration when recommending the right treatment. Thank you!"

Patient
Hamden, CT

"I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care."

Patient
Westwood, MA

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today."
