COVID Testing Can be as Easy as 1-2-3

COVID-19 remains one of the top health concerns for people heading into this fall. The rise of the highly contagious delta variant and headlines about new breakthrough infections have left many of us feeling uncertain and fatigued after a long year and a half of battling the pandemic.

If you have a loved one who is immunocompromised, a child who is not yet eligible for the vaccine or you haven’t received your vaccine yet, testing is still your best option for keeping everyone safe. We know that even vaccinated individuals can catch and carry COVID, and asymptomatic transmission makes it hard to make an informed decision about what activities you and your family can participate in this fall.

Getting tested for COVID-19 at PhysicianOne Urgent Care is a pretty simple process with minimal wait. It only takes three easy steps:

1. Book a telehealth visit with our medical team

Have you traveled, domestically or internationally, recently, particularly to a place with high transmission rates? Were you or your family exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19? Do you have a cough or other concerning symptoms? Our motto as PhysicianOne Urgent Care is “when in doubt, get it checked out.”

We recommend testing as a safety net to give you the most up-to-date data that can keep you, your family and community safe. To help make testing as convenient as possible, start with a virtual telehealth visit with one of our experienced medical providers to talk about your situation and symptoms.

2. Come visit one of our 23 locations for a COVID-19 nasal swab

Next, you can head to the most convenient PhysicianOne Urgent Care location for the swab and it will all be billed as one visit (both the virtual and in-person visit). We offer PCR and Rapid (antigen) COVID-19 virus testing services at all our locations. The diagnostic test for an active COVID-19 infection involves an anterior nasal swab, which is a method of collecting a sample of nasal secretions from the back of your nose.

The test is quick and relatively painless. If one of our centers is not convenient to you, our team can help you find a convenient testing option near you.

3. Get your COVID-19 results

Result turnaround times for PCR and Rapid (antigen) COVID-19 virus testing are approximately 24 to 48 hours. However, the labs that process these tests can run into delays due to a large increase in testing volume, inclement weather or other factors. If a test comes back as positive, a medical team member will share next steps with you and help you feel better, faster.

At PhysicianOne, we’ve got you and we are here to help you and your loved ones navigate through these continuous uncertain times. Testing is our most helpful safety net as the COVID-19 crisis continues. To get your health concerns checked and questions answered, schedule a virtual visit or come into any of our 23 locations in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New York.

"I had to take my son in for an ear infection following a sudden change in temperament at daycare. He was inconsolable the entire car ride but when we got there and by the time we left this care facility he was back to his normal happy go lucky little two year old boy. I highly recommend PhysicianOne Urgent Care."

Patient
Westwood, MA

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the attention you gave me last week. My son was started on antibiotics and ear drops. Within 24 hours he began to feel better. The poor kid had been going to school in tears because he was afraid of missing any more days, but feeling (and looking) just awful! He's not been able to even think about lacrosse practice, but thanks to starting him on antibiotics, he was thrilled to return to practice today."
